Tanning Beds: Can i skip my accelerator and just use a lotion with bronzers?
Hi everyone! So i just started going to the tanning salon today. I used the Grape Escape Accelerator by Supre and it never really gave me any color. It was the first time i used it and the first time i've been to the tanning salon in a long time. I was expecting at least a small color change but i didn't see anything!...The problem is that accelerators never work for me because i have fair skin and i have to keep going for 2 weeks just to get a good base tan and the problem is that i want to get a nice deep tan in 1 week, so instead of using the accelerator, do you think i could just skip it and start using my tanning lotion that is a silicone 60x bronzer?
2) Would it turn me orange and would i still get the same color benefits?
1) I don't want to waste the accelerator, so once i get the tan i want could i go back to the tanning bed and use the accelerator instead of the bronzer just to keep my tan for longer, lasting results?

You won't see any noticeable color after one time tanning. You need at least three visits to see color.
But yes you can just skip to a bronzer. A bronzer is just an accelerator with sunless tanner (Dihydroxyacetone and/or erythrulose) and/or a natural bronzer (cosmetic bronzer that shows color right away and then washes off in the shower). Your first couple times tanning you'll just be seeing your sunless results, then by your third fourth or fifth tanning session you will see a combination of your natural color and your sunless color.
It shouldn't turn you orange. Most Indoor Tanning lotions have too low of a DHA level to turn you orange. And yes you will still get the same exact color benefits.
And yes you could switch back to the accellerator once you have the results you want. It is a good idea actually to switch between bronzers and accellerators. That way you get the sunless benefits of bronzers, but you give your skin a break from bronzers (if color starts to get a little fakey) with the accellerators.
